Williams Named Vice Chair of House Technology Committee
House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, has named State Rep. Danny Williams, R-Seminole, vice chair of the House Technology Committee during the 58th Legislature.
Williams said he is honored to have been selected to serve on this important committee to make a difference for rural Oklahoma.
“With the increased use of remote learning and working from home, improving rural broadband and technology has become a priority for many legislators,” Williams said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to help pass legislation that will answer the needs of Oklahomans.”
State Rep. Logan Phillips, R-Mounds, will serve as chair of the committee.
Williams, a small business owner, was elected to the House on Tuesday, Nov. 3. He previously represented House District 28 from 1989-1994. For the last twenty years, he has been involved in technology, providing high-speed internet services to rural Oklahoma.
House leadership positions for the 58th Oklahoma Legislature were announced Tuesday after the constitutionally-required Organizational Day. Session begins Monday, Feb. 1.
