Voter Registration Deadline is Friday For April 4 Election

Posted in:

The deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming Seminole Public School bond election is this Friday, March 10.

The election has been set for Tuesday, April 4. Voters living within the school district will face a $510,000 proposal for the purposes of upgrading playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces, including bringing them up to safety and accessibility standards. The term of the bond is five years. According to Superintendent Dr. Bob Gragg, current tax rates will not go up if the proposal passes, as the same millage rate voters agreed to in the 2017 bond election will be maintained. Gragg added that this bond will not significantly impact the timing of future bond issues according to long-range plans. It is a short-term school improvement stabilization bond.

New voters should complete the voter registration application using the OK Voter Portal “Wizard,” which can be found at the state election board website. You must print, sign, and submit the application to the Seminole County Election Board, located inside the County Courthouse in Wewoka, to complete the process. Those who are already registered to vote but need to update their information may do so online as well. Anyone with questions should call the County Election Board at (405) 257-2786.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is Monday, March 20. Early voting will be available March 30 - 31 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the County Election Board Office.
