Vehicle Pursuit…

Posted in:

The Seminole Police Department Tahoes have bumpers that are curved so they can use “Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI)”. Motor vehicle pursuit is one of the most difficult activities for an officer to manage. TVI happens when an officer is in a vehicle pursuit, and an officer’s front bumper is just ahead of the other vehicle’s back bumper. The officer matches the fleeing driver’s speed, gently touches (not rams) the other vehicle, and then makes a quick quarter turn of the wheel toward it. The Other car then spins out safely to a stop. This allows an officer to conclude the pursuit, and follow policy to his next steps. This is just one of many features the SPD vehicles are equipped with to ensure our safety.
