Vehicle Flips; Driver to OKC

An Oklahoma City man was life-flighted to the hospital after accidentally rolling his vehicle in rural Seminole County early Sunday morning.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), fifty-year-old Jimmie Abraham was traveling southbound on Highway 56 in a 1990 Chevy Blazer when he departed the roadway to the right and struck a ditch.

The impact caused the vehide to roll over onto its top, pinning Abraham inside for approximately 30 minutes. He was extricated from the vehide by the Wewoka Fire Department.

Abraham was transported by Air Evac to Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.

According to the OHP report, the vehicle was not equipped with airbags and it was unknown if Abraham was wearing a seatbelt. Weather conditions were dear and the roadway was dry when the crash happened, according to the OHP. Abraham’s condition at the time of the crash as well as its cause remains under investigation.

The accident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 21 just after 2 a.m. on State Highway 56 and EW1360 RD, approximately six miles south of Wewoka.

The collision was investigated by Trooper Ty Wallace #485 of the Seminole/ Okfuskee County Detachment of Troop D with assistance from the Seminole County Sheriffs Department and Wewoka Fire Department.
