Varnum Students Return to In-Person Learning
Varnum Public School students are happy to return to in-person learning one month after Covid-19 concerns resulted in a change to virtual learning and calendar set backs.
Students at Varnum spent their last week of school before Christmas break learning virtually due to concerns about the number of Covid-19 cases in Oklahoma. After Christmas break had ended, the decision was then made by the school’s administration that returning to in-person learning should be delayed one week and that the days missed would be made up with virtual Fridays. These changes also affected basketball homecoming, which has been rescheduled for Jan. 26th.
The one week of virtual learning combined with two weeks of Christmas break and a oneweek delay to the start of our second semester meant that Varnum stu dents hadn’t physically been in the classroom for an entire month, and students couldn’t be happier to be back on campus! Welcome back, Whippets!
