Due to the continued increase in Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Vamum Public Schools will not be in school January 4th_nth (no in-person or virtual). The school is planning to start back on a req lar schedule on January ll in.

The four days will be made up with virtual Fridays. Masks will be required for all students and staff. The goal is to stay in school for as long as possible with a regular schedule. Please assist the school with doing the best you can to limit exposure to the students. If you feel your child(ren) have been exposed please keep them home and contact the school to arrange for virtual assignments, etc.

There are new guidelines the school will follow. If someone is in quarantine because of exposure, then students/staff can: 1. Return to school after the 7th day if they have had a negative test on day 5-7. 2. Return to school after the 10th day with no test if they are symptom free. 3. If a student/staff has tested positive they may return after the 10th day.

This pandemic is not going to go away anytime soon, even if the vaccines work as they should. Please let the school know if you have any questions. Keeping the students, teachers, and staff safe is the school’s number one priority.
