Varnum’s Journalism Class Welcomes a New Student
The Varnum Public Schools journalism would like to introduce its newest addition, Blakeley Gee.
Blakeley recently moved to Varnum from Piedmont Oklahoma, and says that so far, she loves being a Varnum Whippet. “It was most definitely a huge change in my life. The sizes of the schools were a tremendous difference. It took time to settle in. Varnum is a small school, but it gives it more of a “family” feeling, and I love that. Everyone is extremely friendly,” said Gee.
“My favorite subject in school is English. I’ve always loved English, and luckily, I’ve been blessed with good English teachers throughout my school years I’m excited to see where the rest of this school year takes me. I’m looking forward to growing with people and becoming a part of the Whippets said Gee.
Gee’s favorite thing to do outside of school is to attend basketball games. “It’s really cool to see all the people supporting one another. I love to help the basketball manager with jerseys and all sorts of things like that. I also love going to the gym, its my go-to place when I need to clear my mind.”
When she’s not at school or attending basketball games, Gee enjoys spending time at home with her older sister, younger sister, mom, and dad. “I’m very close with my family!”
