Student Spotlight
At Seminole High School we have tons of talent that goes unrecognized by our student body. I’d like to take the time to spotlight a student whose artwork deserves some recognition, Gwynethe Cardenas. Gwynethe began drawing in the fourth grade. She says she is, “inspired by everyday life. If I see something, I like I’ll draw it. Like an outfit, for example. Or I draw emotions, mostly from real life.” She explains her style of art as more cartoony but she’s trying to get more realistic. Gwynethe prefers drawing to painting because, “I can do more detail in a drawing and I can erase.” She has tried to do animation but doesn’t have the right tools and she states she doesn’t have the time or attention span for it. As for a future career in art, Gwynthe can see it more as a hobby than a career.
