Strother School District Calls $9.6M Bond Election
Strother Public Schools have scheduled an election for Oct. 12, 2021, seeking the voters’ approval in funding the proposed construction and furnishing of a new, multi-purpose event center as well as furnishing, repairing, and remodeling school buildings, acquiring school furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites.

The proclamation and notice of election states that the specific projects for which at least eighty-five percent of the of the proceeds of the bonds shall be expended is “construction, furnish, equip and/or acquire a multi-purpose event center.”
A press release from the Seminole County Election Board states that early voting begins Thursday, October 7 for voters in the Strother Public Schools District. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.
Seminole County Election Board Secretary, Amy Baker, said early voting is open to all voters.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted through the State Election Board – from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Baker said.
Early voting is available Thursday October 7th and Friday October 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the County Election Board located at 110 S. Wewoka Ave Suite 101 Wewoka, OK 74884.
