Stolen Mercedes Benz Leads To Felony For Seminole Man

Posted in:

A Seminole man is facing a felony charge for allegedly being in possession of a stolen Mercedes Benz.

Felony charges were filed in Seminole County District Court Wednesday against 24-year-old Donald Eugene LeForce, Jr. following his apprehension during a traffic stop last month.

According to an affidavit, at about 10 p.m. on April 23, Lt. Jordan Bumgarner of the Seminole Police Department received information about a stolen vehicle parked at the Executive Inn on Wrangler Boulevard.

Corporal Billy Messner was on patrol in the area and spotted an unoccupied Mercedes Benz in the parking lot. A tag check revealed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Pittsburg County.

Messner and a passenger, identified as Zachery Hughes, left in the car and began travelling west on Wrangler. The vehicle was later pulled over in a service station parking lot, where LeForce was apprehended. According to an affidavit, LeForce had multiple outstanding warrants out of Seminole County.

A local wrecker took possession of the car and LeForce was transported to the Seminole County Jail and booked on the stolen vehicle charge as well as the outstanding warrants. Hughes was not taken into custody.

According to court records, past charges against LeForce include grand larceny at night, knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and tampering with utilities. He is due back in court for a status conference on June 3.
