Stephanie Taylor has been named as a new board member of the Academy of Seminole (TAOS).

“Stephanie has a passion for effective education. She was active in assisting Advance Rural Education (ARE) during the approval process to open the Academy of Seminole,” TAOS said in a press release. “She understands that education is the key to providing children with the skills necessary to achieve a promising future. She firmly believes that good education has the power to change a life.”

Taylor obtained a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education in 2009. She is also a certified early elementary educator, and is currently the office manager for a local, family-owned oil and gas operator.

Stephanie is married to Oklahoma Senator Zack Taylor (R-Seminole), who was first elected to the senate in 2020 to represent District 28, which includes communities in Lincoln, Pottawatomie and Seminole counties. Taylor served as a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2017-2019 before being elected to the senate in a special election.

TAOS offers a classroom environment with no more than 24 students in a class. The school offers Spanish, Music, PE, and a wide array of electives. TAOS is divided in three Branches, the Elementary School for grades PreK to 5th, the Middle School from grades 6th to 8th, and the High School for grades 9th and above. As a charter school, it is a public school, free to attend and open to all.
