Seminole Youth Council 2022 Holds First Meeting

Posted in:

Seminole Youth Council 2022 met for the first time this year on August 14th at Reynold’s Wellness Center. Public Information Officer Briana Wymore led the meet and greet gathering where they ate pizza and learned about Myers Brigg Personalities.

Wymore said, “I wanted to make our first meeting fun and a ‘get to know you’ session. I have sat through classes about Myers Briggs personalities and always enjoyed the content and activities. This year we split up into groups according to different personalities and students had to draw out their dream home. It was interesting to see the different personalities come through a simple drawing. The students enjoyed their first meeting and they look forward to digging deeper into city entities throughout the year so I think we can call that a success!”

They also heard from City Manager Steve Saxon who encouraged them to lead and volunteer not only now, but as they grow into adulthood. He said, “There is no greater legacy than training tomorrow’s leaders.”

This year’s members include 14 Seminole High School students and 2 Varnum High School students. Next month’s meeting will be about volunteerism on Wednesday, October 6th.
