Seminole Public Schools Updates Protocols for Educators

Posted in:

The following is an update from Seminole Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Gragg regarding protocols surrounding distance learning and employee protection:

Seminole School Employees: According to state and national leadership, the next four weeks are critical in terms of keeping our employees, students and families safe. We must take extreme caution and practice due diligence according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines in order to mitigate the risks of spreading Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This means a change of protocol for the rest of April regarding essential employees. Anyone considered essential, and is over the age of 65, and/ or has any potential health risks will need to work from home at least through the end of the month (April 6 – April 30, 2020). Let your immediate supervisor know if you need any accommodations to make this work for you.

Central office hours for phone messages and virtual student enrollment for new students will be Monday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Meals distribution will continue Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Distance Learning will begin on April 6, from home-based teachers. Teachers should be in contact with building Principals regarding the expectations and someone should be in contact with students and parents regarding the distance learning options.

The April 13 Seminole School Board meeting will be posted as a virtual meeting (with access via Zoom). No one will be meeting at the boardroom in person for this particular meeting. We will post the link to the Zoom meeting and run it totally virtually. The public will have access to the meeting via a Zoom link.

If you have any questions about whether or not you are on the essential employee list, please call or contact your immediate supervisor. Thank you for your loyalty and continued support of our school, our students and our families/community.
