Seminole Man Killed in Crash On Hwy. 270 Friday Night
A Seminole man was killed in a single vehicle collision late Friday night just outside of Wewoka.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Kordel McGuire was driving a 2016 Ford Focus on Highway 270 and ran a stop sign at the Business 270 intersection. The vehicle departed the roadway to the right, struck a tree then rolled over three fourths of the way. McGuire suffered massive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wewoka Fire Department.
The accident occurred June 18 at approximately 11:49 p.m. on US-270, two miles west of Wewoka. According to the OHP report, McGuire was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but the vehicle’s equipped airbags were deployed. The cause of the crash remained under investigation at press time.
Trooper Brad Stuteville of the Seminole County Detachment of Troop D handled the investigation with assistance from the Seminole Nation Light Horse Department, Seminole County EMS and the Wewoka Fire Department.
