Seminole Man Arrested For Burglary Twice in Less Than Ninety Days

Posted in:

For the second in less than 90 days, a Seminole man has been arrested on burglary charges.

Tyler Kerr Coffman, 21, was arrested in late February after police found him inside of a local non-profit’s storage building. Coffman was arrested in December in relation to several burglaries in the Wewoka area. Court records indicate he pled guilty to those charges and was on probation at the time of his latest arrest.

According to an affidavit, Corporal Anthony Louie of the Seminole Police Department was dispatched to the Seminole Family Resource Center on Feb. 21 regarding a suspicious male who was seen on security cameras prowling around in the alley.

Louie said he observed that the door of a storage shed had been tampered with, and he was able to see that a male, later identified as Coffman, was inside.

Coffman was ordered by Louie to come out of the building with his hands up and to lie on the ground so he could be handcuffed. Coffman allegedly told Louie that he was hiding inside of the building because he thought he saw a police car pass by and thought that police were looking for him.

According to the affidavit, Coffman later admitted to Louie that he was on probation and was out past curfew. Coffman said, according to the affidavit, that he “wanted to enjoy the night using methamphetamine and having sex.”

Coffman was transported to the Seminole County Jail where he was booked in on charges of third-degree burglary. He had been previously charged with burglary in the second degree and breaking and entering with unlawful intent.
