Seminole Junior/Senior Prom Scheduled For This Saturday
Seminole High School will hold its annual prom for juniors and seniors this weekend, albeit with a different look.
Students did not have a prom in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, but in March administrators announced that a prom would be held this year in a tent located near the high school.
“Prom 2021 Butterfly Garden” is slated for Saturday, April 24 from 8 - 11 p.m. following the promenade, the red carpet - type photo op, which is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.
Students are to park in the northwest and west parking lots and enter the gym using the back door on the west. Spectators will be allowed only for the promenade portion of the event. Spectators should park in the southeast parking lot and use the east back gym door. Masks are required for all students and spectators.
A photography area will be marked off and should be vacated immediately after the student being photographed has crossed the stage. Spectators are to exit through the back doors of the gym immediately following the promenade.
School officials said free COVID-19 tests would be offered on Friday for students who will be attending prom. Tests will also be available after the prom. To schedule a test, call or message the school nurse, Stephanie Killian, at 405-584-2342.
