Seat on Seminole School Board Soon to be Vacant; District Seeks Candidates

Posted in:

The Seminole Public School District (1-001), Board of Education is announcing a vacancy to the board seat #2, effective at the conclusion of the regular monthly meeting scheduled for Monday October 11, 2021.

Ms. Linda Hampton, current President of the board, has announced her resignation as a member of the board, stating that upcoming family medical reasons have led up to this very difficult decision to step down from the board.

The Seminole School Board of Education anticipates selection of a candidate to be appointed to complete the term of seat #2, which will end in April 2022. Letters of interest in filling this appointment will be considered at least through September 30th, after which time the board will begin the process of screening candidate information and scheduling interviews to be held in confidential executive sessions. A Special Meeting is anticipated for the week of October 4th — 8th.

Minimum qualifications to serve as a member of the Seminole Board of Education include having been a resident in the district for a least the past six months (April through September 2021) and having been a registered voter within the geographic boundaries of the Seminole Public School district during this 6-month timeframe. Additional qualifications will be shared with candidates interested in serving on the board.

Anyone interested in being appointed to fill this board seat vacancy, should contact the district administration office (405. 382-5085) and speak with Ms. Danielle Anson (Office Manager — Ext. 605), or Dr. Bob Gragg (Superintendent Ext. 602).
