School Board Hires PR Firm For Branding, Press Releases
The Seminole Public School Board has approved an agreement with the Center for Communications and Engagement for marketing and communication services.
The agreement was approved unanimously during the board’s regular monthly meeting held Monday evening.
Superintendent Dr. Bob Gragg told the board the company will be utilized to handle marketing, branding and press releases for “serious events” in the community including future bond issues.
The company is headed up Kathleen Kennedy, who Gragg said is “top notch” in her field.
“I met Kathleen several years ago at careertech event, and I was very impressed by her presentation,” Gragg said. “This agreement is going to be great for our school.”
The company will be put on a retainer of $1,000 per year and, according to Gragg, COVID-19 stimulus funds will be used to help offset the fees. Gragg added that the company offers professional development services at reduced rates.
According to its website, the Center for Communication and Engagement has over 20 years’ experience and offers “turn-key public relations enabling clients to effectively tell their schools’ stories and engage the public through crisis communications and media coaching to crafting publications, web material and winning bond campaigns that fit any budget.”
Kennedy served as Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations for Oklahoma City Public Schools from 2007-2014.
