Radio Show Host to Speak Saturday at Seminole County Republican Convention

Jake Merrick is slated to be the special guest speaker at the Seminole County Republican Convention this Saturday, March 25. The event will get underway at 9 a.m. at Gigi’s Restaurant in downtown Seminole.

Merrick is the proud father of two girls (13 and 8), and has been married to Nicole for 12 years. He was born in Elk City and was raised in West Texas in the heart of ranch country. His sport in high school was rodeo: calf-roping, team roping, and bulldogging. Weekends were spent at the rodeo, and it was there his ministry began with his family. They would often lead Cowboy Church with Jake offering a sermon and the family singing a few Southern Gospel songs.

Merrick’s pursuit of ministry took him to Dallas Baptist University where he earned a BA in Biblical Studies, and then he received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth.

Jake has always had a dual call to both preach the gospel and bring the gospel to the marketplace. As a result he has started up and managed several businesses including the gym True Cross Training, Merrick Fence Company, Merrick Brothers Tool Sales, and a non profit called Paraklete, Inc.

Most recently, Jake was elected to serve in the Oklahoma State Senate representing District 22. He left office in November of 2022 and is now the host of the Jake Merrick Show on Freedom 96.9FM. Jake is also leading a grassroots effort called 100K Friends in an effort to “expose corruption and call people back to the foundations the founding fathers laid out clearly in the Constitution.”
