Power Surge Causes Phone System Failure For City of Seminole

Posted in:

The City of Seminole announced Tuesday morning that it had been experiencing problems with its phone system, but shortly after noon, it was announced that the system was back up.

“We apologize for any inconvenience our customers may be experiencing with our phone system failure,” officials said in a statement. “We have had issues since Thursday’s power surge. We are working with contractors to fix the problem. If you have left messages, we will return those calls as we are able to retrieve them.”

In the event of a phone system failure, citizens can still contact the city by emailing Info@Seminole-Oklahoma.net, reporting a problem on its “Citizen Problem Reporter” (seminole-oklahoma.net/ citizen-problem-reporter) or stop by city hall during office hours.

Citizen Problem Reporter can be used by the general public to submit non-emergency problems or requests for service in our community. The application has been optimized for smartphones but is responsively designed to be used on smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers.

Citizen Problem Reporter presents multiple maps that can be used to report a problem or observation. Users can anonymously submit new reports, review existing reports, and comment and vote on reports or observations submitted by other users.

If you see an issue that you would like to report simply click on the appropriate problem category. Fill out the form with as much detail as you are able to give, along with a location marked on the map, and if possible, a picture then click submit. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for the city to review the issue.
