Powells Ace not Enough to Rally Wewoka
GOLF - On a dreary morning at Gil Morgan Golf Course in Wewoka, the Seminole Golf Club and its 30 members showed up to defend their 12 point lead in the second stanza of the Ryder Cup Series.
Seminole held on to the lead throughout the day and when the competition was over the final score was Seminole 55 ½ to Wewoka’s 34 ½.
Chase Powell of the Wewoka Golf Club shot a Hole in One on the par 3, 7th Hole and cheers of jubilation rang throughout the golf course.
Members of both golf teams congratulated Powell on his accomplishment.
This was the end of the Spring Ryder Cup Series as the next will be played in November 2021, after a long wait, a champion team was crowned as last year’s event ended in a tie.
Both golf courses are gearing up for tournament season, be sure to check with both clubs if interested in playing in any golf tournaments.
