Brian Thomas Palmer has announced that he is a candidate for the position of Assistant Chief of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
A general election will be held for the offices of Chief, Assistant Chief and Council Members on July 10. A runoff election, if necessary, will be held on August 7.
Palmer’s announcement appears below in its entirety.
“I am proud to announce my candidacy for the office of Assistant Chief of the Seminole Nation. It has been my lifelong goal to serve our Nation. Having spent more than 13 years as an employee of the Nation, active Tusekia Harjo band member, and Band Chief, I have the knowledge and experience to fulfill the duties of this position.
The only campaign promise I will make to our people is that I will not make an empty promise to obtain votes. I will always uphold our traditional ways, tribal codes, and honor our ancestors. I humbly ask for your support and vote to elect me as your next Assistant Chief. Mvto.”
