A suspect with an Okemah address faces felony charges after allegedly taking advantage of a victim with a New Castle address by stealing his car from a residence in Cromwell.

According to documents filed in the District Court of Seminole County, Macy Vaught, 19, has been charged with one count of larceny of automobile, aircraft, or other motor vehicle.

A probable cause affidavit filed in the case states that on June 7, Seminole County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Thomas was dispatched to a rural Cromwell address to take a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated that he had driven to Cromwell to visit with a female named Macie Vaught, who he had been talking to online for two weeks, according to the affidavit.

When the victim got to Cromwell, Vaught wasn’t home, so he waited until she arrived at approximately 3:00 a.m. Vaught told the victim to follow her to another residence, leading him to the rural address where the victim was interviewed.

According to the victim’s statement in the affidavit, after they arrived at the rural address, Vaught took a shower, and when she was finished, she suggested that she move the victim’s car from being so close to the road. The victim states in the affidavit that he handed her his keys, and she proceeded to pull out of the driveway and take off with his car without his permission. She never returned or contacted the victim, the affidavit states.

An affidavit for issuance of arrest warrant was filed in the District Court of Seminole County on Wednesday, July 21. During an initial appearance on July 21 bond was set at $1,000.
