Oklahoma Center For Nonprofits Announces First COO

Posted in:

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits (OKCNP) is excited to announce the hire of its first Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Matthew Scraper.

“Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role,” said Marnie Taylor, President and CEO of The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. “His strategic vision, organizational skills, leadership acumen and ability to connect with our internal team and our members perfectly positions him to help lead our organization.”

Scraper joins OKCNP after 19 years as an Ordained Minister with The United Methodist Church. At OKCNP, he leads the operational and programmatic facets of our statewide, nonprofit membership association, with daily responsibility for all internal functions of the organization, including management and supervision of key leadership roles.

“By joining the team at the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, I have the opportunity to work with phenomenal people who are passionate about helping nonprofits make our state a better place for everyone. That is something that I can get out of bed every morning and be excited about,” said Dr. Matthew Scraper.

Scraper holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Business Information Technology from Rogers State University, as well as a Master’s of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry in Organizational Leadership from Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and 6th-generation Cherokee combat veteran of the United States Army. A graduate of the Army’s Infantry, Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger Indoctrination, Jungle Operations Training, and Sniper Schools, Matthew has participated in deployments to Panama and the former Yugoslavia in support of Operation Joint Forge.

Matthew’s volunteer service has focused on outreach to marginalized communities in Oklahoma and around the world. He and his wife, Kate, have three adult children - Robyn, Samantha, and Megan - and two tremendously spoiled dogs - Gus and Abby. In his free time, Matthew enjoys reading, running, cooking and traveling as often as possible.
