Oklahoma Army National Guard has Announced the Off-duty Death of a Recent Recruit
The Oklahoma Army National Guard has announced the off-duty death of a recent recruit.
Private Kollin Edge died June 19 as a result of injuries sustained while riding on an all-terrain vehicle.
Edge enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard on March 24, 2021, and was a member of the Recruit Sustainment Program at the time of his death. He was scheduled to leave home for basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, on August 9 with follow-on MOS training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
“It saddens me to see this young man’s life end when he had so many great opportunities ahead of him, said Maj. Gen. Michael Thompson, the adjutant general for Oklahoma. “I know he will be missed by all who loved him.”
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25 at the Boswell Gymnasium, 604 7th St., Boswell, Oklahoma, 74727.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Boswell Schools Athletic Fund at First Texoma National Bank in Boswell.
