Motorcyclist Dead After Crash With Sports Car

Posted in:

A Seminole man has died from injuries sustained in a collision between a motorcycle and a sports car early Wednesday evening.

According to the Seminole Police Department, 63-year-old John Starns was driving his motorcycle northbound on Milt Phillips when a southbound 2009 Ford Mustang turned left at the Reid Street intersection, causing a collision.

Starns was reportedly ejected from the motorcycle after striking the right rear quarter panel of the Mustang, which was driven by a juvenile (but licensed) female. Starns was transported by Seminole EMS to the helipad at the Seminole Municipal Airport, where he was flown to the hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. Starns reportedly succumbed to his injuries Thursday night in the hospital.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on May 26 in front of Subway. Additional details of the accident have not been released.
