Linda Chesser

Linda Louise (Johnson) Chesser, 75 year old Checotah, Oklahoma resident, and former Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Wednesday, March 11, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

She was born November 21, 1944 in Talario, California to parents Beulah (Stephens) Winkelman and Bill Johnson.

Linda worked many years for a pilot car service. She enjoyed coloring and playing Bingo.

Most of all she loved when her grandkids and great-grandkids came to visit her. Linda also loved fried chicken, Chocolate Malts and Juicy Fruit Gum.

Linda foremost Loved the Lord. She also enjoyed collecting everything butterflies, singing Karaoke and her favorite color was purple.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jack Shatto and his wife Judi of Checotah, Oklahoma, Bobby Shatto and his wife Elaine of Maud, Oklahoma; two brothers, Roy Winkelman of Enid, Oklahoma, Jimmy Winkelman of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two sisters; Brenda Tucker of Yukon, Oklahoma, Linna Hester of Yukon, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Sapkota and her husband Gocool of Odessa, Texas, Renee Murray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jack Shatto Jr. of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Josh Shatto and his wife Robin of Maud, Oklahoma, Terry Shatto of Maud, Oklahoma, Kelli Shatto of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jeremy Denniston and his wife Courtney of Poteau, Oklahoma, Joseph Hill of Taft, Oklahoma; 19 great-grandchildren, Devi, Indra, Natalie, Madelyn, Alizia, Tray, Chance, Jakobi, Eli, Adam, Lauren, Rico, Jayda, Gloria, Deion, Damian, Dominic, Nathan and Jacob; Linda is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Johnny Chesser who died in 2000, by two sisters, Carma Dale and Betty Johnson, by two brothers, Charles Winkelman and Billy Johnson.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the First Baptist Church located at 801 North Green Street in Maud, Oklahoma, with her son Pastor Bobby Shatto officiating the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
