Judy A. Williams’ Legacy Lives on Through A New Scholarship Introduced at The South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce 2021 “Excellence in Education Banquet”
Women of the South awarded four scholarships to deserving high school seniors at the recent South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce “Excellence In Education Banquet”. Three scholarships for $2,000 each and one for $2,500 in memory of one of their founding members, Judy Williams. Judy had served on many committees and for many years was the Chair for Women of the South’s Scholarship Program. Brandi Mertens and Angela O’Keefe made the presentation to Karen Santillan of US Grant High School. Judy’s husband, Pepper Williams was on hand for the honor.
“The Judy Williams Memorial Scholarship was a beautiful way to honor Judy’s love and dedication to education and her community, said Elaine Lyons, South Oklahoma City Chamber President. “I have known Judy for so many years and could not be more pleased to see her legacy live on as through this scholarship,” added Elaine.
Other recipients of the Women of the South Scholarships included: Alondra Quintanilla of Southeast HS, Ellie Neide of Moore HS, and Kayla Nealy of Southmoore HS. Women of the South is a non-profit organization comprised of women helping women.
