Joenathan Stargell II was born to Valerie (Edwards) Bridgewater and Joenathan Stargell I in Oklahoma City. He was the second child out of five. He was the oldest son. He was dedicated to his work at each place.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his adopted mom Shirley Stargell Nash Edwards; and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
