Hughes County Health Department Partners with Dollar General for COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Posted in:

The Hughes County Health Department’s mobile wellness unit will be on location in the Dollar General parking lot to provide free COVID-19 vaccines to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. The clinic will take place at Dollar General, located at 920 Hinckley St. in Holdenville.

All three federally authorized vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J) will be available. Clients may receive their first or second dose at this clinic. Pfizer vaccine will be available to all individuals ages 12 and older. Clients under 18 will need parental consent from a parent or guardian. Please bring one form of identification.

“These vaccines have been shown to be safe. Each vaccine helps to prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19,” said Raelina Tucker, district nurse manager for Hughes County Health Department. “If you have not received your vaccine, we encourage you to come by our walk-up clinic at Dollar General to help protect yourself and family from COVID-19.”

Those coming to this vaccine clinic do not need an appointment. Clients will be asked about their history of allergic reaction to vaccines. Clients without a previous history of allergic reaction will be monitored onsite for 15 minutes, while those with a previous history of allergic reaction will be monitored for 30 minutes.
