Ford Appointed to Interstate Commission
Rep. Ross Ford, R-Broken Arrow, has been appointed by Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, to the State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.
The State Council oversees and administers the state’s participation in the Interstate Compact for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS), which was developed in 1937 to regulate the movement of probationers and parolees across state lines. ICAOS is enacted in all 50 states and three U.S. territories.
“I’ve dedicated my career to working to keep Oklahomans safe, and this appointment provides another opportunity to continue that work,” Ford said. “I’m honored to have been selected by the Speaker to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the mission of the commission.”
Ford’s appointment was effective immediately and lasts until June 30, 2024.
He currently serves as the chair of the House Appropriations & Budget Subcommittee for Public Safety and also a member of the House Criminal Justice & Corrections and the Judiciary – Criminal committees. Ford is also a member of the Criminal Justice Reclassification Coordination Council, which reviews the reclassification of felonies and sentence lengths and makes recommendations to the governor and House and Senate leaders to ensure the safety of the public.
Ford, a 25-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department, previously worked as a patrol officer and as a DARE and community relations officer.
