Early Voting Starts Thurs. At Courthouse
Early voting will get underway at the Seminole County Courthouse tomorrow in three separate local elections. In-person absentee voting will be available Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Patrons of the Seminole School District will face a $510,000 bond election for the purposes of upgrading playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces, including bringing them up to safety and accessibility standards. The term of the bond is five years. According to Superintendent Dr. Bob Gragg, current tax rates will not go up if the proposal passes, as the same millage rate voters agreed to in the 2017 bond election will be maintained.
Voters in the Strother School District will vote to fill a seat on the Board of Education. Two candidates, incumbent Tami J. Shelton and Dustin Hogue, are on the ballot. Shelton currently serves as board president.
Maud voters will cast ballots for mayor, city council and school board seats.
