Early Voting in April 6 Election Gets Underway This Thursday
Early voting will get underway Thursday in the April 6 election that includes a countywide tax referendum, the filling of school board and city council seats and a school bond proposition.
In-person absentee voting is scheduled for Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Seminole County Courthouse in Wewoka. Polls will be open next Tuesday, April 6 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
While all registered voters in the county will face a quarter-cent sales tax proposal to fund operations at the Seminole County Jail, there are several localized issues on the ballot, which are recapped below.
Seminole Public Schools, School Board Seat #1: Marci Donaho vs. Jolene Doucette.
Butner Public Schools, School Board Seat #1: Kelli Kannard vs. Michael G. Sowder.
Wewoka Public Schools Proposition: $7,035,000 series bond issue to construct a new middle school for grades 5-8.
City of Maud, Ward 2 City Council Member: Cary Fletcher vs. Virgina Stephens.
