CVEC Fiber Coming Soon To Seminole

Posted in:

CVEC Fiber, a subsidiary of Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, has announced they are bringing reliable fiber optic internet to the residents and businesses of Seminole, Oklahoma. They will bring in additional construction crews to deploy fiber-to-the-home in Seminole beginning March 2023. This fiber network will benefit residents, families, commercial entities, and community organizations within the city with ultra-high-speed internet.

Sheila Allgood, CVEC Fiber, General Manager of Broadband, stated, “Rural areas do not have access to gigabit speed broadband like urban areas. With the deployment of our super-fast, high-capacity, redundant network, Seminole will be one of the elite rural towns that can declare it is a “Gig Community.”

Since connecting its first customer in June 2021, CVEC Fiber has made phenomenal strides to bridge the digital divide in rural central Oklahoma. CVEC Fiber has constructed over 1,800 miles of pure fiber-to-thehome broadband to improve the quality of life in our communities by delivering fiber optic broadband to areas where other providers would not invest. City of Seminole Mayor Jeff Griffin stated, “The City Council has made internet bandwidth and speed a priority. We are pleased to be partnering with CVEC to bring world-class services to Seminole.”

CVEC Fiber has 3 internet package plans for residents to choose from, ranging from 150 Mbps, 1 Gig and 2.4 Gig. All service packages offer “symmetrical” speeds, meaning you’ll enjoy the same high speeds whether uploading or downloading, enabling seamless remote work, streaming, and gaming experiences. Other advantages to having CVEC Fiber services are no price gimmicks, no contracts, and no data caps, just fast, reliable internet.

Sean Carlisle, City of Seminole, GIS/I.T. Director, stated, “The City of Seminole is a firm believer in fostering the best and brightest technology to help our community realize its full potential, and that is made possible with the help of CVEC’s high speed, dependable fiber network. Reliable, fast internet has long demonstrated that it is just as critical as roads and utilities for a community to thrive, and this has become even more important in recent years with the need for remote classes for school or working remotely. We look forward to elevating Seminole’s access to the most cutting-edge technology possible.
