Cromwell Man’s Death Under OSBI Investigation
Reports of a person that was allegedly dropped off at the Seminole hospital over the weekend and later died have been confirmed by Seminole County Sheriff Shannon Smith.
According to unconfirmed reports, the possible victim, identified as Anthony Sebree, 27, appeared to have injuries consistent with being beaten. Because of the suspicious nature of the death, Sheriff Smith stated the investigation has been turned over to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).
The OSBI is typically called in at the request of local authorities when a death appears to be of a suspicious nature. The bureau assists county sheriff’s offices and city police departments and is the primary investigative agency of the state government.
According to Sebree’s Facebook page he grew up in Cromwell and graduated from Butner High School in 2013. Friends and family have described him as a “true country boy and cowboy at heart.” He loved bull riding and had dreams of becoming a professional bull rider.
Sebree was born May 18, 1994 and is survived by his father, Tony Sebree of Oklahoma City and his mother, Joyce Dye, and stepfather Bobby Dye, also of Oklahoma City. Other relatives include sisters Faith Sebree, Tammy Wind and Cassie Smith. He is the grand-son of Charles and Corine Kiplinger of Cromwell.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help with funeral expenses. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Absolute Funeral Home in Oklahoma City.
