The article “Local Teen Confesses to Robbing Convenience Store in 2018” in the June 16 edition of the Seminole Producer contained an error.

Det. Chris Ayers was quoted in the article as saying that Andrew Choate’s family encouraged him to turn himself in. Ayers actually said that the moral and religious beliefs instilled in Choate by his family played a role in the confession. Choate’s family was not aware that he had turned himself in until they were contacted by police.

The Producer regrets the error.
