City-wide Cleanup to Begin Sat.
Less than one week remains until the Seminole Community Clean Up begins, but there’s still plenty of time left for volunteers to sign up and lend a helping hand.
The city’s cleanup is planned around “Earth Week” which is observed April 17-24. The local effort is in partnership with The Great American Cleanup, which provides supplies like gloves, vests, and trash bags so citizens can do their part in keeping America beautiful.
The city currently has just over 130 volunteers that have committed to helping clean Seminole. Several businesses and individuals have committed to cleaning their own property and others have said they would help by making updates to local parks.
If you would like to help, but are not sure how, here are a few options:
1. Painting at Sportsman Lake
2. Picking Up Trash on a Highway
3. Cleaning Alleyways (behind houses or businesses)
4. Park Renovations

The Great American Cleanup began as a litter cleanup initiative designed to aesthetically improve our environment by creating cleaner parks, streets-capes, and public spaces through litter removal and elimination.
To this day, community cleanups remain at the very heart of the campaign, and the results are remarkable. In 2019 alone, over 40 million pounds of litter and recyclables were collected by volunteers throughout the country.
