City of Seminole Workers Complete Hectic Thursday
Thursday, June 4, was a difficult day for city workers as circumstances did not seem to be on the City of Seminole’s side. The morning started with Sportsman Lake having no electricity. Even though the city had no way to fix the electricity, Lake Ranger Rob Robertson vetted calls all day about restoring electricity to Sportsman Lake. Canadian Valley Electric Company had to clear a path to gain access to a tree that had fallen on the lines and were able to get the electricity back on by 3:15 p.m.
“I want to thank everyone on site for their patience,” said Robertson. “I know it can be frustrating when travel does not go as planned. I also want to thank Canadian Valley for getting our electric back on as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, the City’s Public Works Department had all hands on deck, working to fix two water lines and a sewer line that Thursday. The water department worked on a 12-inch main line on Wrangler Boulevard, and the line maintenance department was called out to fix a 14-inch sewer line. In addition, the street department was brought in to fix a 6-inch water line that made a 40-foot gusher on the intersection of Boren Boulevard and Strother Avenue.
Public Works Director Bryant Baker was proud to say, “Our guys came together to fix multiple problems, and did it in a timely manner. We all wear the same shirt and work together to serve the community.”
