Car Show Planned For May 3 To Benefit Downtown District

Posted in:

The newly formed Seminole Downtown District group will be staging a car show next month as a fundraiser for making improvements throughout the downtown area.

The event, organized by Gabriel Vasquez, has been scheduled for Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. The District is encouraging downtown businesses to have sidewalk sales that day as well.

Classes for the car show include stock cars, modified cars, stock trucks, modified trucks, rat rods, imports and motorcycles. Special awards will be presented to the best of show in the car and truck categories.

Registration forms are available at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce offices at 326 East Evans. The deadline for registering is 10 a.m. on the day of the show. Call (405) 303-0420 for more information.

The Downtown District was formed by merchants and businesses in March following a meeting with City Manager Steve Saxon and Police Chief to discuss crime in the downtown area. The group will have a planning meeting on Thursday, May 13 at 9 am at the library in preparation of another meeting with Saxon and Withers scheduled for Thursday, May 20.
