Captain Richie Lay officially retired from the Seminole Fire Department. Captain Lay served his hometown community for 23 years.

There will be some big shoes to fill at Seminole Fire. Not only did Captain Lay come to work every day with a great attitude and great work ethic, he did a lot for the community that was rarely seen.

Richie took charge of the fire prevention and always gave a great station tour. Richie would often go read at the library to groups of kids. Captain Lay would often drop everything and come back to help on his days off when we had large incidents or multiple calls.

Captain Lay never complained and would always do what was asked of him without any complaints. Richie has a wealth of knowledge of just about every building in town. Richie would often times be seen mentoring younger Co-workers. Congratulations Captain Richie Lay on the retirement it is well deserved.
