Candidates for municipal office in the Town of Bowlegs may file declarations of candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1.

Amy Baker, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Declarations of candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office, located in the Seminole County Courthouse in Wewoka.

Three seats on the town’s Board of Trustees will be filled in a nonpartisan election scheduled for April 6.

Baker this week issued a reminder that Feb. 2 is the last day to request an absentee mail-in ballot for the Feb. 9 City of Konawa and City of Seminole elections, and early voting in those elections is slated for Feb. 4-5 at the county courthouse from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
