Academy of Seminole Goes Virtual Rest of Week Due to Cold Weather
Bitterly cold temperatures resulted in the cancellation of classes for the Academy of Seminole on Tuesday and a shift to virtual learning for the remainder of the week.
“Due to the extremely old temperatures, and our unique situation of temporary classrooms, our students will weather the cold temperatures as they change classrooms every hour,” school officials stated in a letter to parents/guardians of students released Tuesday. “Because of this, we will be going virtual. Virtual classes will be on Wednes-day, Thursday and Friday.”
According to the letter, classes will be dismissed on Monday, Feb. 15 for President’s Day and school officials believe students will be able to return to classrooms on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
The letter also states that parent/teacher conferences will be rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25 and Friday, Feb. 26. Valentine’s Day parties will also be rescheduled for a later date.
