Europe’s arms crisis took a new turn today with Great Britain and Germany as well as Great Britain and France apparently in disagreement. Britain and Germany took divergent views of the basis on which Sir John Simon and Adolf Hitler should negotiate legalization of German rearmament. French sources bitterly criticized Britain’s procedure. France drafted a strong protest against Germany’s service law.

The windy month of March is more than just the opening of spring for W. W. Montieth, Seminole photographer. It marks the 50 th year that the white haired veteran has been taking and developing pictures. Montie has taken pictures of many notables during his 50 years in the game, but said the one he considered best was of William Jennings Bryan in 1896, when he was campaigning for the presidency in Hamilton, Ohio.

Petunia unit of the Garden Club was very pleasantly entertained at a covered dish luncheon in the home of Mrs. Albert Johnson in Asher. Guests were Mrs. Mary Johnson and Mrs. F.R. Pack. Members were Mrs. G.P. Merrell and daughter, Wanda, Mrs. R.W. Monroe, Mrs. L.K. Reed, Mrs. W.F. Spears, Mrs. M.L. Spiegle, Mrs. B.G. Wood and Mrs. T. Frank Watson.

The ministerial show, “Cork Is King,” which was presented here several weeks ago by the Wedding Ring Class of the First Methodist Church, was presented again in Earlsboro. Making up the cast were Fred Gipson, S.R. Creekmore, Elmer Teague, Carl Nelson, Bob Shultz, W.E. Neely and F.J. Wilbanks.

Mrs. M.M. Prather was hostess to a group of friends at an all day quilting in her home. Those present were Mrs. C.D. Pippin, Mrs. James Biggers, Mrs. Clyde Mayfield, Mrs. Florence Shields and Mrs. C.L. Prather.
