The Seminole high school cheerleaders and Pep club officers announced this morning that a citywide peprally would be held tonight at 7 o’clock in front of the Seminole Municipal Auditorium.
Reason for the rally is to boost spirit for the upcoming Friday night Seminole-Bristow district football clash to Chieftain Stadium.
According to Julian Johnson, Pep club president, all persons in the city – adults, teenagers, and children – are invited. Seminole high school’s pep band will be on hand for the event also.
“We would like to have a large group of adults along with all students in the Seminole school system turn out for the rally,” Miss Johnson said. “Let’s show the football boys that we are behind them this year.”
She went on to say that following the downtown rally there would be a bonfire rally behind the National Guard Armory. “Following the bonfire rally we want everyone to go and attend the Seminole junior high football games against Holdenville at Chieftain Stadium,” Miss Johnson added.
With one district win under their belts and the Seminole Chieftains will face the Bristow Purple Pirates Friday night in another District 2A-4 showdown at Seminole’s Chieftain Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 o’clock.
Second ranked Seminole, who downed the Pirates last year 34-0, is favored to win the contest.
However, Bristow has showed strength this year by downing Holland Hall of Tulsa, 38-20, and district foe Drumright last week, 19-0. Wewoka has put the only blemish on the Pirate record – a 17-6 loss in both teams first district match.
Bristow stands 1-1 in the district and 2-1 for the season. Seminole is undefeated with a. 1-0 district record and a 2-0-1 season tally.
