Jewel Bradbury taking a tasty dish of food to an appreciative neighbor… First Christian churchwomen contributing a great number of Betty Crocker coupons to aid in the purchase of a kidney machine and Mrs. Carl Schall bringing them to the Producer… John Nelson recuperating at home from his recent car mishap… He may have visitors while he’s convalescing… Terri Myers was one of several students who left Seminole this weekend to attend college at Oklahoma State University… She will be a junior this year… City policemen Ron Overby and Willard Townsend giving a reporter a demonstration on what it feels like to be handcuffed… Bob Walker, Seminole Jaycee President, being pleased with the help he received on the Seminole All-Night Sing… Lynn Dollar remarking that it’s back to the business of books and study Monday… He will be a sophomore at Seminole Junior College this year…
Governor David Hall announced Thursday the four trustees of the Seminole Junior College which state law authorizes him to appoint. The Governor made the announcement of his four appointees during his luncheon speech in Harvest House.
City Councilman T. P. “Mutt” Bryan was named by the governor to a one-year term. Fred Adwan, retired business man and former mayor was named to a twoyear term. Dr. Hubert Callaway, optometrist and present chairman of the city school board was named to a threeyear term and local Attorney Frank Seay Sr. was named to a four-year term.
Seminole Public Schools Friday announced a free and reduced price lunch policy for Seminole school children unable to pay the full price.
For the first time in several years the coaches in the tough District 2A-4 have given Seminole the “Kiss Of Death.”
Seminole is marked as the team to knock-off defending loop champion Wewoka this season, according to a poll of league coaches, it was announced in the Oklahoma metropolitan papers – The Daily Oklahoman and the Tulsa Daily World – this week.
Coach Jim Webb’s Chieftains drew five first place votes and totaled 35 points while Wewoka was named first on the other two ballots and earned 32 points.
