Balloons and favors were presented each of the children. Loree opened an array of gifts and all guests joined to sing the birthday song.

Little guests attending were Mark Hooten, Connie Robbins, Teresa Adams, Donna Wills, Laurie Patterson, Carrie Gunter, Tina and Donnie Collier, Angela Cottrell and Jerry Atkinson.

Tony Doudican, local Seminole golf pro, announced today that the Certified Laboratories Company will host an Invitational Golf Tournament on the Seminole links Thursday.

The 18-hole affair will be an annual event with this year’s being first.

Some 25 players from across the state have been invited to play in the tournament. One special guest of the tournament will be Dr. Leslie Fisher, state superintendent of public schools.

In charge of the tournament is Les Nordean, Konawa, who is a representative of Certified Laboratories. Tee-off will be at 12:00 on the Seminole links Thursday.

“The course will be closed for the tournament,” Doudican said. “This tournament is to be an annual event and next year’s may grow to be as large as 50 or 60 contestants.”

The one-day affair will be medal play under the Calloway handicap system.
