At noon today in Seminole it was 85 degrees after a low Tuesday night of 57, the National Weather Service’s local station at the fire department reported. High temperature Tuesday was 88 degrees.
Seminole county joined in this morning with other countries in the state getting the compulsory vaccination of all horses, mules, ponies, and donkeys underway with the special vaccines to protect them from the rare sleeping sickness, Venezuelan equine encephalomy-elitis which is in epidemic stage in Texas and Mexico and some other states.
Texas officials already busy vaccinating horses and killing mosquitoes trying to beat back a spreading sleeping sickness, were warned today of a new danger to livestock—an outbreak of swine fever in Latin America.
While Apollo 15’s astronauts sought medical clearance for launch Monday, two large tracking aircraft headed for Guam today to support America’s forthcoming moon landing expedition.
City police were called to the Ted Markham residence at 305 West Walnut at 4 a.m. today to investigate a house burglary.
Markham told police that someone broke into his house during the night and stole his pants, shirt, billfold containing $20, and his car keys and a key to the shop at the Dowell installation here.
