Paul Mullen, a former OSU and Seminole high cage star, has received an invitation from the Milwaukee Bucks pro-basketball team to attend a tryout in Milwaukee on July 15 for a place on the squad...He is the son of the Vernon Mullens of 808 Lincoln... Seminole, along with the rest of the United States, is observing two Fourth of Julys. One is the historical one, July 4, while the other is the first Monday in July which this year is July 5 and set by the nation’s politicians to give them and their supporters a three-day holiday. Most Seminole business firms, all city, state, county, and federal offices will be closed Monday. All banks also take a holiday Monday as do the post offices around the county.

The weather service said Oklahomans can expect scattered thunderstorms through the Fourth of July weekend, as a result of warm, moist air over the state.

Forecasters said temperatures would reach lows Saturday night from 66 to 76 and highs Sunday from 87 to 97.

Seminole Jaycee’s will present a Fourth of July aerial fireworks show tonight (Sunday) for Seminole city and area residents in Municipal Park. Other entertainment, provided by the Jaycee’s, will be an Indian Powwow.

The association of Jack A. Mattingly, a former assistant general counsel for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with the local law firm of Bishop and Wantland, was announced Friday by William Bishop, senior member of the firm.
