Mrs. Ben (Ida) Edwards being the paternal grandmother of the Angela Edwards Plummer whose husband, Bill, is a new band executive in Dallas…The news release only listed one of the grandmothers in Tuesday’s Producer… Chamber Manager Bob Jones commenting about the improvements being made by business firms along Main Street and on other business streets…Hammons Men Wear building along with that of B&L Electric getting face liftings…And the former Shuler Drug location being redecorated for a new tenant…There are more in the mill according to Jones…

President Nixon ordered sent to Congress the secret Pentagon report on the Vietnam War.

White House Press Secretary Ronald L. Ziegler said Nixon informed Senate Democrat leader Mike Mansfield of his decision at a breakfast meeting.

Next Monday night, June 28, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Auditorium, the Seminole City council will hold a public hearing on the question of “Ambulance Service for Seminole After July 1,” Mayor Waldo Lilly announced this morning.

Thunderstorms hit parts of eastern Oklahoma early today, kicking up strong winds that were blamed for one death by drowning.

The storms diminished during the morning, but forecasters said afternoon and night-time thunderstorms probably would be scattered over most of the state through Thursday.

The 4,028 out-of-state students who attended the University of Oklahoma during the 1970-71 academic year brought a total of $13.6 million into Oklahoma, which when circulated through the state’s economy, produced some $23 million in overall expenditures. This level of expenditures provides 4,010 jobs for Oklahomans.

The New Lima Falcons defeated Pepsi Cola 13-7, in a Senior Peewee League contest played Monday night at Legion No. 2 diamond. Team records are: New Lima 8-0 and Pepsi 8-2.

Winning pitcher in the contest was Curt Yancey while the loser was Albert Marzett.
