The Roads and Highways Committee of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce will host a meeting of representatives from some 16 communities interested in a proposed turnpike from Interstate-35 to Interstate 40 at the Harvest House here on July 1 at 7 p.m. Chamber President Bob Clausing and Committee Chairman Lonnie Howze will represent the chamber at the meeting.
Generally fair skies and warm weather are likely to continue across Oklahoma for several days, the weather service said Saturday.
The Wewoka Chamber of Commerce will host the members of the Seminole County Cattlemen’s Association at a barbecue dinner and ranch tour at the Milt Lindley Jr. ranch, north east of Wewoka, Tuesday, June 22, J.D. Branscum of Konawa, Association president, announced Saturday. The affair will get underway at 6:30 p.m. starting with a tour of the ranch, Branscum said, and all attending are urged to be there on time.
The Seminole Junior College has been told by the housing and Urban Development Administration (HUD) that the grant which the college has for the construction of a student union and cafetorium is still good, President Elmer Tanner told the board of trustees at their regular meeting this past week.

Seminole County Representative David Boren says that charges should be made in the House Rules. “This last session,” Boren said, “forcefully gives evidence of a need for change.”
The Thunderhawk Cheerleading Camp at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, starts Monday and the Seminole high school cheerleaders for 1971-72 along with the Seminole junior high cheerleaders, will be attending. Some 400 girls from eight different states are expected at the weeklong camp.
